Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy focuses on healing and addressing mental health challenges, often rooted in the past. It’s led by licensed professionals and aims to resolve trauma, emotional struggles, or mental health diagnoses. Coaching is forward-focused, supporting personal growth, goal-setting, and self-empowerment. Coaches help clients create strategies for the future but don’t diagnose or treat mental health issues. Both involve empathy and safe spaces, but coaching is about building the future, while therapy often involves healing the past.

What is the difference between Sex Coaching and Sex Therapy?

While both sex coaching and sex therapy support individuals in enhancing their sexual lives, it’s important to note the difference. Sex coaching is a forward-focused, goal-oriented approach designed to help you explore your desires, improve intimacy, and navigate challenges in your relationships. It’s perfect for those seeking to explore new aspects of their sexuality, address issues like communication or confidence, or work through relationship dynamics. On the other hand, sex therapy typically addresses deeper emotional, psychological, or trauma-related issues and is often used to treat conditions like sexual dysfunction, trauma, or anxiety. As a sex coach, I provide a safe, supportive space for personal growth, exploration, and empowerment, but if therapy is needed, I can help refer you to a licensed therapist.

Emergency Protocols

If a crisis arises or you need immediate support, I’m prepared to direct you to the appropriate resources. Your safety and well-being are my top priority, and I’m here to help connect you with the support you need.

My Values:  I treat my clients with dignity, compassion, and kindness, building a container of safety and trust that will allow them to grow, heal, and ultimately experience freedom. My values guide how I treat my clients and approach my business. I believe in and value:

  • Openness and Acceptance: Embracing all people and experiences without judgment.  I celebrate the diversity of identities and experiences, recognizing that all forms of personal expression are valid.

  • Freedom: I believe everyone has the right to make choices about their bodies, lives, and future. Autonomy and personal freedom are essential to living an empowered life.

  • Everyone's Right to Pleasure: I support the right of all people to experience and explore pleasure in their own terms, including through consensual sex, masturbation, and self-expression.

  • Consent: I value consent as the cornerstone of all healthy relationships, emphasizing that all actions must be agreed upon by all involved.

  • LGBTQIA+ Rights: Affirming the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

  • BDSM/Kink and Polyamory: I affirm consensual BDSM, kink, and polyamory as legitimate expressions of human sexuality and relationships, grounded in respect, communication, and mutual agreement.

  • Sex-Positive, Human-Positive Spirituality/Religion: Spirituality and religion should uplift and affirm human dignity, sexuality, and joy, without shame or repression.

  • Accessible and Inclusive Health Care: Sex-positive, gender-inclusive, trauma-informed, racially equitable, and LGBTQIA+ affirming health care is a human right, and it should be available and free to all people.

  • Honoring the Process: I believe in the importance of honoring all stages of growth, including feelings of anger, pain, and confusion, as part of the journey toward healing.

  • Empowerment through Self-Knowledge: Everyone possesses the wisdom and ability to heal themselves and grow, though sometimes they need guidance to access it.

  • Compassion and Kindness: Everyone comes with their whole self, the good and bad. Compassion and kindness are key to connecting, healing, and growth.

My Commitment to Your Safety and Well-Being: As your coach, my primary goal is to create a safe, respectful, and supportive space where you can explore and express your sexual identity, desires, and relationships. Here’s what you can expect when working with me:

  • Confidentiality & Boundaries
Your privacy is essential. Everything we discuss will remain confidential, with a few exceptions where your safety or the safety of others may be at risk (e.g., in cases of harm to yourself or someone else). I’ll always explain the limits of confidentiality so you understand what’s protected.

  • Informed Consent
You’ll always know what to expect from our sessions and I’ll clearly explain the approaches and tools I use to help you feel empowered and informed every step of the way.

  • Physical Contact
I do not engage in physical touch during coaching sessions.

  • Trauma-Informed Care
Past trauma can shape how you approach intimacy and relationships, and I’ll ensure you feel emotionally safe and supported as we work together.

  • Sexual Health & Safety
While I’m here to provide support and guidance, I encourage you to maintain your sexual health through safe practices.

  • Clear Boundaries & Communication
I’m committed to creating an environment where your boundaries are respected and where you can speak up about your needs, desires, and concerns without fear of judgment.

Scope of Coaching
Please note that I am not a licensed therapist or doctor. If you’re dealing with therapeutic or medical issues, I will refer you to the appropriate professionals for further care. My work focuses on coaching and personal growth, but I can connect you with trusted resources when needed.
